Biography
Marty Hall is a widely recognized energy, climate, and environmental policy expert with extensive public and private sector experience. He has served in senior government positions in the White House and both houses of Congress, as well senior roles on Presidential transition teams. His private sector experience includes executive positions for a Fortune 200 company and a premier business association. He is currently a strategic consultant working with a variety of businesses, non-profits, and technology startups, and is a member of multiple advisory boards including ClearPath, Conservative Climate Foundation, Commonweal Ventures, and America Builds. He is also a Senior Policy Fellow at Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES Forum). Hall is a graduate of Northwestern University where he played football for the Wildcats.
Prior to his current role, Hall worked in the office of the Speaker of the House, where he was Chief Strategic Advisor to the chairman of the Elected Leadership Council. During the 116th Congress and 117th Congress, Hall was Staff Director for the House Select Committee on the Climate Crisis. He also served as chief strategic and policy lead for the House Republican Leadership Task Force on Energy, Climate, and Conservation.
Before returning to Capitol Hill, Hall spent over a decade in executive positions in the private sector, most recently as Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff for Business Roundtable (BRT), an association of CEOs of America’s leading companies. Prior to BRT, Hall was a vice president at FirstEnergy where he was executive leader of multiple groups including the environmental department; energy policy; advanced technologies group; and federal affairs. He spent a year on special assignment as co-lead of the project management office for the FirstEnergy-Allegheny Energy merger integration effort.
Hall served in senior positions in both the White House and United States Senate prior to FirstEnergy. A top energy and environmental advisor to President George W. Bush, he was Chief of Staff of the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ). Hall joined the White House following his role as Deputy Staff Director and Senior Policy Advisor for the United States Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works.
Hall began his professional career in the private sector with a joint venture (Conrail-OHM), where he worked on merger and acquisitions as well as international trade.
